Toby Hatsfelt Jr.
February 28, 1938 – November 15, 2020

On Sunday, November, 15, 2020, Louis Edward “Toby” Hatsfelt passed away at the age
of 82. Toby was born on February, 28, 1938 in Oakdale, LA to Edward and Lorraine Hatsfelt. He
graduated from McNeese State College. He married his wife Marian on January 27, 1962. Toby
served in the United States Army with a rank of Major and was a Vietnam Veteran and a
recipient of 2 Bronze Star Medals. After retiring from the Army, he worked as a civilian for the
Department of Defense as a computer specialist for more than 30 years. Upon retiring from
civil service, Toby worked as a contractor for Anteon Corp.

Toby loved and cared for his family and served his friends however he could. He was an
avid golfer and a dedicated member of the Sanctuary Choir at First Baptist Church, Pensacola,
FL for 30 years. He served faithfully with the Samaritan Hands Ministry and FBCP’s Backpack
program for students at C.A. Weiss Elementary School. He and Marian were members of the
Gulf Coast Gophers Camping Club. Toby was a great storyteller. He was most known for his
pride in his family, his technological savvy, and his honesty and integrity.

Toby is survived by his wife, Marian; his children, Jessica (Channing) Everett, Michael
(Kristy) Hatsfelt, Dee Dee (Michael) Westbrook; his nephew Matthew Maillian; his grandchildren
Wesley, Savannah, and Christopher Hatsfelt, Lenora Rose Westbrook, and Channing Everett II;
and family and loved ones in Lake Charles, LA.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 27, 2020 at Trahan Family Funeral
