On Monday, November 9, 2020, Edward James “Jay” Roberts, III, 61, of Milton passed away due to complications from liver failure which he battled for the past 17 months. He retired as a State Trooper from the Florida Highway Patrol serving a total of 31 years, during which he received a Medal of Valor.

Jay also served as an Airman in the United States Air Force as a Security Specialist. He enjoyed shooting and collecting guns, playing with our cat, Curly, and loved listening to Southern Gospel Music.
Survivors include: his wife of 31 years, Jill Clarke Roberts; son, Remington Roberts; parents, Edward J. Roberts, Jr. “Bunny” and Mildred Roberts; siblings, Allyson DePompolo and William DePompolo; and many special aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends that treated him as their own family member.
Visitation will be held from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, November 13, 2020 at Trahan Family Funeral Home, Milton Chapel, 6539 Trammel Dr., Milton, FL 32570.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 14, 2020 also at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at Pleasant Home Baptist Church Cemetery.
Jay was a devoted son, father, brother, and loving husband. He is dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
