Obituary

Janice Williams McCranie, was called home to her Lord and Savior to rest in eternal peace on Sunday, November 8, 2020.

She was met at the gates of Heaven by her parents, brother and son. She was born Janice Williams on November 8, 1961 along with her twin sister, Joyce Williams Norton in Apalachicola. They made headlines that day because they were the second set of twins born in Apalachicola. The twins were featured in the local paper and were the talk of the town.

Janice was predeceased by her parents, Beetrice and Lillie Mae Williams; brother, Marion Williams and first son, Raymond Douglas Gray.

Even at a young age Janice loved being a mother. She moved to Milton where she married David O. McCranie. They had two children, Michael David McCranie and Teri Lynn McCranie. In their beautiful and loving home in Milton, Florida they raised their three children. Janice loved being a mother and wife. She took pride in her home where she was always busy decorating and gardening.

Janice loved the outdoors. Even though she could not swim, she loved going to the creek. She would always come back home with the most beautiful tan!

Janice is survived by her two children, Michael David McCranie and Teri Lynn McCranie; sisters: Joyce Norton, Pattie Stewart and Gwen Hibble; brother, Ray Williams; grandchildren: Jadia Danks, Barrett Peele and Kaitlyn Cohen McCranie; daughter-in-law , Katie McCranie; sister-in-law, Ann Williams; nieces: Jennifer Kemp and family, Christina Caasi and family, April Palmer and family, Nikki Freelon and family, Amy Mozynski and family;nephews, Aaron and Cohan;

She also leaves behind many great nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Pallbearers: Patrick Johnson, Scott Palmer, Herman W. Broom, III, David Hubbell, Charlie Hubbell; Honorary pallbearers: Josiah Simmons, Luke Palmer, Logan Palmer.

Janice will definitely be missed, but will always be loved.

My sister Teresa remembers when y’all lived in Kinard, Janice singing delta dawn and Paper Roses, in front of the big pine tree that still stands in that yard. I remember her always smiling and how beautiful she was. Deepest condolences from Barnum and Bertie Mae Pitts family.
