Marion Oswald Tidwell, age 92, passed away peacefully at his home in Chumuckla,

He was born on March 11, 1928, in Marianna, Florida, to the late Maggie Tidwell and
Alton Tidwell. Marion attended Marianna High School.
Marion was preceded in death by: his late wife, Mary Tidwell; sister, Inez Ford; brother,
Rufus Tidwell; and his daughter, Debbie Christenson.
He is survived by: his brother, Bill Tidwell; son, Richard Tidwell; his daughters, Denise
Curry, Kathy Murders, and Mary Beth Washnock; dear friend, Carolyn Bragg; and
several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and an abundance of
Marion Tidwell served as the State Director of Farm Bureau in Santa Rosa County for
28 years from 1981 to 2009. He held the Distinguished Board Member award in this
position. He was also a member of the Cattleman Association, EREC board, and served
on various other boards and committees.
Marion was a man of many trades, and throughout his life, he worked as a plumber,
electrician, and farmer. Marion also served in the United States Navy.
Marion was a lover of all things adventure and outdoors, and he always had a story to
tell about the places he visited and the things he accomplished. He held a State of
Florida airport license and loved to fly planes. His favorite stories to tell people were
about all the states and countries he had visited.
If you had the opportunity to know Marion, you knew someone who was kind, Godfearing,witty, smart, and compassionate. Marion was a special man who was wellknown, respected, and loved by his community.
