Obituary for Ray Mack "Joe" Jackson

Ray Mack Jackson was born on Jun 29, 1938, in Milton, Florida, and was the third child of the late John W. Jackson, Jr. and Olester Bolden Jackson. He completed his life's journey on Friday, October 16, 2020.
He was passionately known to all who knew him, as “Joe”. He attended school in Santa Rosa County, prior to entering the United States Army. During his tour of duty, in Wachenheim, West Germany, his military occupation specialty (MOS) was Personnel Administration. After his discharge from military service, he returned home to Milton, Florida.
Joe was a pillar in the Milton Community, never meeting a stranger, he would help anyone; always giving from his heart, and never expected anything in return. He was a successful business man; from managing his club, “The Blue Goose” — to mastering Masonry and beautifying many homes throughout the Panhandle.
He was a member at Mount Pilgrim African American Baptist Church at an early age. He later rededicated his life, through baptism, at Susan Street Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, John W. Jackson, Jr. and Olester B. Jackson; his siblings, John A. (Sonny) Jackson and Katie Pearl Jackson; his son, Cedric Simmons; his grandson, Little Mikey Johnson; and his companion, Ms. Barbara Johnson.
Joe’s beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of his family. He will be missed by his children: Yvette, Cynthia, Rena, Vivian (Boo), Debra, Tee, Chris, Michael, Jovon, and Ray Jr. A host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
He will also be forever missed by his brothers and sisters — Betty Neely, George E. “Plute” (Annaliza) Jackson, Pearl (Wayne) Hodrick, Dave (Alberta) Jackson, and William K. (Catherine) Jackson, Sr.
He will also be missed by his special friends: As a brother, Melvin “Jr.” Brown, Albert Gaines, R.J. Simmons, and Solomon “Brant” Green.
