September 24, 1949 - October 12, 2020
Sal began his journey, his "real" Life forever to be with Jesus, on Monday, October 12, 2020. He will FOREVER be in our hearts, our daily thoughts & conversation, although his presence and the true love he shared with his family will always be missed. Sal turned 71 on September 24th. For the past 32+ years, he suffered with tremendous pain and tolerance of Crohns Disease. He developed lung cancer during this past year which further weakened his physical being. By the Love and Grace of God, Sal is now free of the pain he endured for so many years.
Sal was married to Jennifer Crisp Polvere for almost 30 glorious years. They each brought 3 (half grown) children to the marriage: Dawn, Amber, Steven, Ashley, Micah, and Lindsey. Sal and Jennifer celebrated the births and enjoyed time spent with their 5 grandchildren: Molly, Blake, Alexia, Ava & Evan (twins). A beautiful life together, full of surprises, was immensely enjoyed like a "box full of chocolates!" Sal "Butchie" was born in East Orange, NJ to the late Richard Salvatore Polvere and the late Antoinette Cervone Polvere. Sal had one sister, whom he dearly loved, Linda Polvere O'Connor, who left this world on June 13, 2013. Sal was also loved and known as "Uncle Butchie" to his niece, Abbie, her children, Patrick & Colin and to his nephew, Mike (deceased).
Sal attended Our Lady of the Valley Church where he attended his entire K- 12 schooling and was an Alter Boy. His enthusiasm for the sciences led him to earning his Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry from Upsala College, a private college in East Orange, New Jersey. As an all-time A+ student, Sal earned a college scholarship, he was awarded high honors from the New Jersey House of Senate and was later featured on the Cover of Chemistry magazine outlining his scientific expertise.
Later, Sal started his own successful business in Atlanta, GA, specializing in the development and formulation of adhesive products. His expertise, knowledge and devotion to his to company, its employees, and trust from worldwide clients, allowed him the opportunity to sell his company to a large adhesive company where, after staying on board as Vice President of Technical Services, retired in 2014 with 30+ years of a successful career.
Sal was as a loving and devoted Dad, the greatest grandfather & Mentor (Popsy), the best of friends to his colleagues, also known as the "MacDaddy" to close circles of friends, and shared an undying love with his wife, Jennifer.
Salvatore Richard Polvere will FOREVER be cherished in our Hearts & Souls. We are comforted and truly blessed knowing he is now smiling upon us from Heaven as our Guardian Angel.
