Cathy Michelle Lett, 50, departed this life on Saturday, July 25, 2020. She was born March 2, 1970 at Sacred Heart Hospital, Pensacola, Florida, to Elmira Phillips and Charlie E. Lett.
Cathy grew up in the East Hill section of Pensacola, where she spent as much time as she could at Bayview Park, her favorite place. She attended Booker T. Washington High School, where she played the flute in the school band, graduating in 1988.
Cathy lived in Atlanta, GA for 15 years (2001-2016). She worked in security for ten years at the Georgia Aquarium, and also at the Georgia World Congress Center and various banking locations around the city.
A two-time breast cancer survivor (2011 & 2016), Cathy developed and ran Ribbons, Inc., a non-profit support group serving cancer patients and survivors from 2012 to 2017. She was in the process of transferring Ribbons, Inc. to the Pensacola area when she was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer in 2018.
Cathy is predeceased by her parents and her brother, Averett Lett.
Left to cherish her memories are her three children, Robert Anthony Lewis Jr. (Tia); Dontavia Morris (Timothy); and Alexis Lewis (Kashif); Five grandchildren, Joshua Lewis, Jordan Morris, Bailey Morris, Aubrey Morris and Alana Michelle Lewis; Two sisters, Cherie Thinn (Tom) of Orlando, FL and Suyon Rodriguez of Mableton, GA; nine nieces and nephews, Latoya Thinn, Patty Thinn, Ricky Rodriguez, Mina Rodriguez, Kira Rodriguez, Dallas Rodriguez, Marcus Thinn, Shawniquia Lett, and Averett (AJ) Lett, Jr., and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Cathy absolutely loved her children with her whole soul. She was an extremely devoted mother and grandmother. Her favorite things included Zumba, movies, chocolate, babies, and ice cream. A life-long devout Christian, Cathy was a member of Deliverance Tabernacle Christian Center in Milton, FL.
The Lett family will hold a Special Memorial for Cathy in 2021, due to the current COVID 19 crisis. Family members will be notified of specifics.
