Dorothy Sunday Houston, born June 19, 1929, went home to be with the Lord on July 24, 2020.
She was married for 70 years to the love of her life, Joe Houston.
Dorothy’s life revolved around her family. She was a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, and woman of God. She lived a life of giving, being a friend, showing kindness and cooking great meals. She was an excellent seamstress and gardener, also. She will be remembered for her chicken and dumplings and seafood gumbo.
She was preceded in death by her husband and granddaughter, Tami Houston.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter Linda (Ed) Shutze; sons, Jerry (Lou Ann), and Danny (Patty); 5 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 5 great great-grandchildren and 3 sisters.
Dorothy worked outside the home at St. Regis papermill, Mayes Printing Company and Sam’s Club as a product demonstrator. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her kind and sweet ways.
Dorothy had lots of friends and family, but due to the current health concerns, the service is limited to immediate family. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday, July 28th at Beulah Baptist Church with burial to follow at Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Pine Forest Assembly of God Church.
