Harold Slay, 82, of Pace Florida entered eternal rest at his home on July 23, 2020. He was born on February 4, 1938 to the late JD Slay and Evelyn Holland at their home in Pensacola, Florida. He was fortunate to have had 15 brothers and sisters in his life. He married his wife Nancy Slay on April 18, 1958 and together they spent 62 years of blessed marriage.
He is preceded in death by his sons; Michael Wayne Slay, Paul Douglas Slay, daughter Pamela Sue Tisdale and daughter in law; Lois Slay.
He is survived by the love of his life; Nancy Slay, son: Harold Dennis Slay. Granddaughters: Jennifer (Coby) Boudreaux, Nita (Danny) Scott, Kristy (Aaron) Stokes, Jacqueline Jones, Niki Slay, Nancy (Ben) Maxson, Katie (Michael) Forester and Brittany Slay. Grandsons: Bryan Slay and Brandon Slay.
He had many great grandchildren whom he loved to make laugh and smile.
Harold was loved by many including his special friends; Carmen and Dan Swafford, Bruce and Sally Henderson, Pat Wilkinson, Jim Stokes and those who he loved as his own grandchildren; Shawn and Kai Swafford.
He spent his life known by many as a cabinet builder and a bait and tackle shop owner. However, he will be remembered most for his firm handshakes, bear hugs and jokes.
The family wishes to give a special thanks to Emerald Coast Hospice for their love and care during this time.
Visitation will be Tuesday, July 28, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. until funeral service begins at 11:00 a.m., all at Trahan Family Funeral Home of Milton. Burial will follow at Memory Park.
