Joseph Glenn “Joe” Gilpatrick, 60, of Milton, FL, passed away on May 28, 2020.
Joe was born in Norfolk, Virginia on July 29, 1959. He is the son of Larry Glenn Gilpatrick and Nelma Christine “Chris” Gilpatrick. He worked as a Master Carpenter for more than 40 years creating, what he called, “his masterpieces.” The ties he created within our community will never be replaced.
In 1998, he met the love of his life, Linda Gilpatrick and married her on March 22, 2010. Joe and Linda picked this date as it was the first day of Spring which represents the time for rebirth and renewal of growth. With the many years together, they built a beautiful life full of love and enjoyment with their children, families and countless cherished friends. Joe always adored his 14 grandchildren the most and would always say, “Linda and I are very blessed with these gifts of life.”
Joe loved to hunt, fish, play sports and pull pranks on everyone around him. He prized cooking and “grilling” for his numerous family and friends. He loved Alabama football and made sure the family knew it! Joe took great pride in his carpentry work and he did build masterpieces. He treasured good time rock n roll. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He was a very wonderful man, with a huge heart, who loved to help others.
Joe is survived by his wife, Linda Gilpatrick; his children, Jacob Gilpatrick, Bryan Gilpatrick, Shane Gryner, Chad Corley, Brant ”BJ” Corley and only daughter Amber Corley; his brother John Gilpatrick; his sisters Rena Gilpatrick Alexander and Sharon Bush; his fourteen grandchildren and numerous friends he called family.
Memorial Service is at Trahan Family Funeral Home of Milton, Friday, June 5, 2020 at 1:00 pm.

It is with our deepest and most heartfelt regret that John, Rena and I share the passing of our eldest brother, Joseph Glenn Gilpatrick. Joe was as all big brothers are, there when you needed him and never forgot where he came from. With a big heart and even bigger smile, Joe helped us through difficult times and truly loved in a big way, sometimes even bigger than life itself. He worked incredibly hard throughout his life and loved friends and family with an equal passion. He was the kind of man who didn’t think twice about helping people and would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. For all this and the amazing and unforgettable memories, we will cherish you, Joe, always and forever. Thank you for being our big brother.
