On Wednesday, May 20, 2020, Violet Reese Robinson-loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away in her home at the age 73, after a courageous battle with metastatic small cell lung cancer.
Violet was born September 20, 1946 in Philadelphia, PA to the late Robert Robinson Jr. and the late Violet D. Evans. Violet was the oldest of seven siblings.
Violet was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Robert Robinson III and Donald Robinson.
Violet is survived by her husband, John Reese, her children, Tina Wellborn (Dusty), Gina Bergman (Jeffrey), Brenda Reese Williams (Dale) and Shelly Reese, her grandchildren, Kaleigh Coates (Ashton), Patrick Wellborn, Haley Bergman, Grant Bergman, Kyle Williams, Devin Williams, Cheyenne Johnson (Scott) and her great-grandchildren, Theodore Coates and Florence Williams. She is also survived by her sisters, Bonnie Staples and Judy Schaller and her brothers, Thomas Robinson (Diane) and Edward Robinson, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and loving friends.
Violet was an avid lover of animals and she was especially partial to her dog, Blaze, and cat, King. She enjoyed spending time with her family and was fond of going to the beach. Violet enjoyed participating in
The family would like to thank Dr. Ibrahim and the staff at Baptist Medical Group- Oncology and Baptist Cancer Institute for their efforts in helping with treatments and Covenant Hospice with their assistance in helping to make her as comfortable as possible while staying in her own home.
The services to honor Violet’s life will be held on Sunday, May 24, 2020, with the visitation beginning at 12:00 pm and the service to immediately follow at 12:30 pm. Chaplin Dean Patterson will be officiating.
