Amanda Gail Penton Monroe “Mimi”, “Amygail”, “Lulu” was born on August 20, 1962 and returned to Heaven on May 19, 2020.
Amanda graduated from Milton High School then attended Pensacola State College where she earned her Associate of Arts in Education and Teaching. When Amanda was 22, she had a stroke which led to numerous medical problems throughout her life. Amanda loved the Lord, she attended church when she was able, and loved her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by: her grandparents, Ruel and Flossie Savage and Mack and Myrtice Penton; her father, Harry A. Penton, Sr.; stepfather, Richard Bisbee; three uncles, Jimmy Penton, Richard M. Savage, and Max Penton; three aunts, Joyce Penton, Betty Penton, and Rueline Helms.
Survivors include: her husband, Rickey Dean Monroe; her mother, Peggy Bisbee; two sisters, Debbie (Jim) Harvey and DeeDee (Toby) Hobbs; one brother, Harry A. Penton, Jr.; two nephews, Christopher Harvey and Daniel (Breana) Penton; one niece, Jessica Gapusan; and four great nieces and nephews, Justin and Bella Gapusan, Ava and Forrest Penton.
Trahan Family Funeral Home of Milton is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral service begins at 12 noon on Friday, May 22, 2020 at First Apostolic Church, Milton with Pastor Larry Webb officiating.
Burial will follow at Memory Park Cemetery.
