James R. “Ronnie” Sumler, age 62 of Milton, Florida went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 26, 2020. He was a native and lifelong resident of Milton, Florida. He loved the Lord and his country. He served in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church and was also employed with the State of Florida Forestry Commission.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his father, James W. Sumler; his mother, Jean Phillips; one brother, Ricky David Sumler; and one sister, Lylee Sumler.
He was survived by his wife Robin Sumler of Milton; one daughter, Christy Maurer of Tallahassee, FL; one grandson, Ethan Maurer of Tallahassee, FL; two sisters, Vickey Jackson and Deborah Minnick both of Milton, FL; and four nieces and nephews.
Ronnie was a good Christian man; he was a man of honor and integrity. He will be missed and remembered as honest, hardworking, and devoted to his family.
Visitation will be 12:00 p.m. on Monday, March 30, 2020 at Trahan Family Funeral Home of Milton. Service will follow at 1:00 p.m., also at the funeral home. Interment will be at Pine Grove Cemetery. Trahan Family Funeral Home of Milton is in charge of arrangements
