Obituary

Christopher Allen Sholly, and his precious life began on April 23, 1988. He passed away on February 23, 2020. He was always a very active child, and had a passion for fishing. He loved his family very much and adored his nieces and nephews. He was also an animal lover who rescued animals.

Christopher was a steel worker who was not afraid of hard work. He loved his music and spending time with his friends. His love was unconditional and he loved hard. He always tried to be there for his friends whenever they needed help no matter what time of day. His mother, sister, brother, nieces, nephews, and step-father all adored him. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by: his grandmothers, Madeline Agnus McGuire and Carol Ann Sholly; his grandfather, Steven Paul Deri, Sr.; and his uncle, Steven Paul Deri, Jr.

Survivors include: his adoring mother, Dawn Michele Edwards; his step-father, James Greggery Edwards; his father, Michael Lee Sholly; step-mother, Caroline Sholly; uncle, Todd Allen Sholly; aunt, Carol Lyons Kerttula Sholly; sister, Tarah Christine Freeman; brother-in-law, Robert Wayne Freeman; brother, Steven Ryan Michael Sholly; his sons, Gavin Kayson Sholly and Brantley Ryan Sholly; nieces and nephews, Zachary Robert Wayne Freeman, Brianna Marie Sholly, Adela Mae Dawn Freeman, Arabella Lynn-Ann Freeman; and many dear friends and supporters.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Officer J. Busby, Officer Vaughn, and the other officers of Santa Rosa Sheriff’s Department, the EMS First Responders, and to the Whisper Creek Community for all of their support during this time.

Visitation will begin at 3:00 pm and service will follow at 4:00 pm on Saturday, February 29, 2020 at Trahan Family Funeral Home of Milton.

My deepest condolences to all family, especially mother, my friend and former shipmate, Willow Dawn. God's peace to you all, may you be comforted in your faith, in one another and in knowing that we your friends are here to lift you in prayer during this time of unspeakable grief. “To grant to those who mourn in Zion – to give them a garland instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the mantle of praise instead of a faint spirit; that they may be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he may be glorified.” - Isaiah 61:3

God's peace.

My heart breaks each time I think of what the world lost when we lost you. You could always say the right words to make even my darkest moments seem brighter. I remember us as kids and how Tarah and I used to try to dress you up to be our real life babydoll... When all 4 of us would play out back in the yard together. Now I know you are in Heaven watching over us all as you tried so hard to do in life... Until we meet again.. Love you Chris
