Patrick Jason Cook
March 20, 1978 - January 16, 2020
Patrick Jason Cook of Gulf Breeze died January 16, 2020 at age 41. He was born March 20, 1978 in Pensacola, FL.
He is survived by his beloved sister Jade Nguyen and her husband Vu and their sons Ben and Banner, his longtime friend and fiancé Candy Cullerton, as well as aunts, uncles and many cousins.
Jason is preceded in death by his parents, Preston Jerry Cook (less than one year previous) and Phyllis Jeanne Cook.
He was a graduate of Gulf Breeze High School. Although Jason did not pursue a formal higher education, he was highly intelligent, having skipped a grade in elementary school, and known to those who knew him as a deep thinker who considered matters of philosophy and morality as few do today. A voracious reader,
Jason owned an impressive personal library covering a wide range of interests including critical thinking and analysis, modern music history and the macabre.
He leaves behind a close circle of good friends who will miss his presence in their lives greatly. Often preferring solitude, Jason could just as easily be a gregarious party host at his home or an excellent addition to a festive gathering. Many will remember Jason as an extremely gifted and talented musician. His skills as a guitarist approached virtuosity and he was also a gifted singer, keyboardist, writer and arranger. Those fortunate to have heard and experienced his performances will always remember those instances and those with the good fortune to have played and performed with Jason will cherish those magical moments throughout their lives. Jason will never be forgotten and will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A celebration of Jason’s life will be held on Thursday, January 23, 2020 from 5PM until at The Elbow Room located at 2213 W. Cervantes in Pensacola.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in Jason’s name to the American Cancer Society.
