William James Blackman, 79, passed away peacefully on November 23, 2019 in Milton, FL.
Mr. Blackman, known as “Billy Jim” to his friends and family, was born on August 7, 1940 to Dan and Ethel Blackman. He was born, raised and lived his entire life in Milton, FL. He had a 40 year career with BellSouth, was a residential Home Builder and served on the Santa Rosa County Board of Adjustments and Appeals for over 30 years.
He always looked forward to his weekly outing with his lifelong friends for breakfast and fellowship. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Milton, FL.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dan and Ethel Blackman and his sister, Etheleen Stafford.
He is survived by: his wife, Carole Blackman; sister, Colleen Lord; son, William James “Billy” Blackman Jr.; son, Gary Blackman; daughter, Kara Harrison; son, Michael Blackman; stepson, Mike Williams; grandchildren, Daniel Blackman, Steven Christopher Williams, Travis Williams and Christopher Williams.
Visitation will take place November 30, 2019 at the Trahan Family Funeral Home in Milton from 10:30 am until funeral service begins at 11:30 am.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Milton.
