Obituary for Ronald Myrick

Ronald Myrick
May 2, 1950 ~ November 14, 2019

Surrounded by family and friends, Ronald “Ronnie” Myrick, 69, of Pensacola, FL passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2019. Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents-Robert and Verona Myrick; sister- Veleta Mears; his brother- Horace Myrick; and his first wife, the mother of his three children, Sharon ‘Sherry’ Murphy Myrick.

He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years- Hilda Jean Myrick; his daughter- Belinda Mian (Derek); and his sons- Ronald “Scott” Myrick and Joseph “Joey” Myrick (Jennifer). He is also survived by grandchildren, Joseph D. “Joe” Myrick, Alia Mian, and Tyler “Bubba” Mian; and a great-grand-son- Joseph D. Myrick Jr. to cherish his memory.

Being the youngest of the boys, Ronnie was adored by his surviving siblings - Virgil (Jane) Myrick, Verne Myrick, Wayne (Eleanor) Myrick, Veneta (Bruce) Wentz and Vicki (Troy) McCurdy, along with numerous nieces, nephews and their families.

Ronnie was an avid Nascar fan, never missing a single race. He enjoyed spending time on The Perdido River- swimming, canoeing and camping. Most importantly, He loved spending time with his friends and family. With the addition of a great-grandson this past year, he kept him busy and full of joy. Jr. loved his Paw-paw and his Paw-paw loved him.

We want to express our most sincere thanks and appreciation to Dr. Sachin Pai, Dr. Ashish Manne, Dr. Meir Mizraha, Dr. J. Harrison Howard and their teams with the Oncology Department at the USA Mitchell Cancer Institute in Mobile, Alabama.

We also want to thank the staff on the 2nd floor at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, Florida for their professionalism and the personal care they provided.

Last but not least, a huge shout-out to Covenant Care Hospice, located inside Sacred Heart Hospital for providing comfort and clear communication to our family and Ronnie. From the bottom of our hearts, Thank you all so much!

A Memorial Service will be held at Trahan Family Funeral Home in Brent located at 419 Yoakum Court, Pensacola, Florida, on Friday, November 22nd, with visitation beginning at 6:00pm, with the service to follow at 7:00pm.
