James H. Butler, Sr (Jim) 72, of Pensacola, FL passed away on Tuesday, October 29. Jim was born to James R. Butler and Elsie Pearl Hooper on October 30, 1946 in Wheeling, West Virginia. He was from Wooster OH and then Fort Payne, AL before moving to Pensacola.
Jim served his country in the U.S. Navy for 4 years on the USS Tidewater (AD31).
He was a welder for a large portion of his life. He worked with his dad at Sharon Ornamental in Medina, Ohio. Jim also drove a truck for Schneider Trucking Co., he worked at Volvo and then ACV as well, all in Ohio.
Jim use to sing in church, playing piano and guitar. He sang with his parents and with several groups.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James R and Elsie P Butler; his sister, Sharon S. Engler; two daughters, Elsie L. Butler and April R. Hale; and also, his grandparents and other family members.
Those left to cherish his memory are his brother, Thomas L. (Donna) Butler; daughters, Tina M. Butler and Katie A. Butler; sons, James H. Butler, Jr and Charles R. Hale; also, tons of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
