Daphne V. Neill, of Pensacola, passed away at her home, on Wednesday, October 2, 2019. She was born on February 3, 1943 in Phoenix to Robert “Bobby” and Vivian (Tastula) Laird.
Daphne grew up living as a military child around the world and ending up in Charleston, SC. She married into the military life and continued to live life around the United States. She was the mother of four beautiful children, Victoria Daphne Jackson, Robert Ray Vaugh, Vanessa Jo Budke and Kimberly Thomasina Neill.
She helped her family with fostering animals for the Junior Humane Society, Flori-Bama Small Breed Rescue, Amazing Grace Bully Rescue and Friends of Escambia County Animal Shelter.
Daphne is preceded in death by her parents, Bobby and Vivian Laird; Vickie Jackson and Cody Jackson.
Those left to cherish her memory are Robert Vaughn, Vanessa Budke (Danny), Kimberly Neill (Jeffrey Gritzmacher); eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. And her faithful canine companion, Lucy.
Mom wasn’t formal and wouldn’t want us to mourn so she chose a Celebration of Life. Nothing formal, just a fun way to remember her and a life well lived. Bring a “covered dish” and your fun stories and help us celebrate her life on October 12th from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
