Helen Marie (Hawkins) Miller, 77, of Milton, FL passed away on September 29, 2019.
Helen was born in Louisville, KY on January 11, 1942. Helen was married to Dale on November 22, 1972; they were married 44 1/2 years. Helen was self-employed and co-owner of Dalen’s Communications and Miller’s Wireline Communications. She was passionate about antiques and had a gift for seeing the potential in a home and making it her own. You could often find Helen barefoot, cooking for her family or baking her family’s legendary carrot cake. She loved music, going to the casino with her husband, and spending time with her family. She will be remembered for her strong will, determination, and the fighter that she was.
Helen is preceded in death by her husband, Dale W. Miller, her father, William R. Hawkins, her mother, Flora Mae (Rucker) Hawkins, her daughter, Pamela Jean Miller, and her brother, Buddy Hawkins.
Helen is survived by her children: Thomas W. Gilland, Jr. (Kathy), Richard D. Miller (Lynda), Kimberly D. Golden (Kenny), Jamie L. Miller (Courtney) and Frankie J. Miller; her brother, Kenneth Hawkins; and her sister, Mary Bray. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and other family and friends.
The visitation will be held Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at 11:30 at Trahan Family Funeral Home in Pensacola, FL. Procession will leave from the funeral home at 12:30 for Barrancas National Cemetery for a 1:00 p.m. service.
