Donald Eugene Pugh, 68 of Pensacola, FL passed away at home with his family on August 3, 2019. He accepted the Lord Jesus as his savior in 2014 and was baptized on June 6, 2019.
Donnie or “DP” as many called him, was born on October 3, 1950 at the Naval Hospital in Pensacola. He is survived by his wife, Teresa (Holberton) Pugh, his daughter, Jennifer Marie Pugh (30), his brother, Ronald Pugh of Pensacola, his sisters, Gwen Sainsbury of Greenville, SC, Gloria (Bob) Gravette of Grand Junction, CO and Patsy (Bob) Owens of Jacksonville, FL, along with many nieces and nephews. He graduated from Escambia High School in 1968 and attended the Pensacola Junior College. Donnie enjoyed many high school reunions and this year, attended his 50th high school reunion. He worked 15 years at the Navy Exchange as a Motor Vehicle Operator and retired with 29 years of federal civil service as a Military Pay Technician at the Personnel Support Detachment onboard CID Corry Station and the Naval Air Station Pensacola.
Donnie married Teresa Holberton at his family home on November 3, 1984. Five years later, after living a retirement life of traveling and taking cruises to the Carribean, he would welcome his only daughter, Jennifer Marie Pugh of Pensacola, FL. He was an avid boater, skilled fisherman, great golfer and a gourmet chef, which was his true calling. He spent his weekends on the water with friends and family, cooking Sunday brunch or taking weekend excursions to nearby cities.
God loved Donnie from the very beginning and welcomed him with open arms on August 3, 2019. He is young, healthy and having a great time loving our Lord with his parents, Wilbur and Ruth (Milsted) Pugh who guided him into heaven. He is enjoying fishing, golfing, and praising the Lord with his long-time buddy, David McDurmont.
