Obituary

Bud Ballard, 80, of Milton passed away on August 11, 2019. He was born and raised in Baton Rouge, LA and attended Baker High School for most of his school term.

Bud joined the United States Army in 1957 and was awarded an honorable discharge. After his service in the Army, he met and married Trudy Perez and was blessed with three wonderful children, Warren Paul “Reni” (Cathy) Ballard, Teresa Medina (Kyle) Trumper, and Angie Willie. After the death of his first wife, he met and married Dorris Jones Ballard and his family grew by two more wonderful children, James Christopher (Melanie) Holmes and Deanna Wood.

Bud never met a stranger and he became the patriarch of Daryl Drive. He was Poppa to most of the area kids and Paw Paw to many more. He had the biggest heart and if you needed anything, he was the first to offer. If he claimed you as a friend, then that meant for life.

He was preceded in death by: his first wife; his father, Paul Arthur Ballard; his mother, Elenore Estelle Ballard; and his three sisters, Mary Lou, Janie, and Dot.

Survivors include: his widow, Dorris; his children; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren; and great-great grandchildren.

Trahan Family Funeral Home of Milton is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation and service has been postponed until a further date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society for research of colon cancer.
