Shannon Bosso-Wetzel, age 49, passed away on July 28, 2019 in Pensacola Florida. She was born June 26, 1970 in Pensacola, Fl to Thomas Bosso and Delores (Dottie) Bosso (Soley).
In her early years, she attended St. John's Catholic School and continued her education at Escambia High School where she made many lifelong friends. She attended Pensacola Jr. College and the University of South Alabama in pursuit of a nursing degree. Shannon's true passions were cooking, family and entertaining. Her specialty of course was her famous gumbo requested at all Christmas parties and family functions. This passion undoubtedly led to her long career in the restaurant business. The family always joked that Shannon had been employed with every restaurant in Pensacola.
Shannon's true love was her children and she loved to participate as room mother for all of her children while they attended Cordova Elementary. She was always involved in organizing Christmas, Valentines and other school events.
Shannon lived her life to the fullest and enjoyed many of the activities that Pensacola offered such as Cobia fishing, scuba diving and camping on the beach. Her love for the beach introduced her to many of her lifelong friends.
Shannon was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Ivelea Henry Soley and Dolores Soley (Benezue) and her paternal grandparents Thomas Bernard Bosso and Thelma Matilda Bosso (Hayno).
She is survived by her three children, Maegan, Michael and Nicholas Wetzel; parents Thomas and Delores (Dottie) Bosso; brother Eric Bosso; sister-in-law Lauren Dilmore; nieces Britley Bosso, Haley and Abby Wetzel; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
A memorial will be held from 6-8 pm. Sunday, August 11, 2019 at Trahan Family Funeral Home, 419 Yoakum Ct, Pensacola, FL. The funeral and mass will be held at 10 am. Monday, August 12, 2019 at St Thomas More Catholic Church, 3295 Barrancas Ave, Pensacola, FL. After the mass, the internment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery, 1300 E Hayes St, Pensacola, FL followed by a reception at St Thomas More Catholic Church.
