Rodney G Dehart, 70, passed away peacefully in his sleep on August 6, 2019 due to complications from chronic medical issues.
Rodney was a proud military veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy for 20 years, including 2 tours in Viet Nam, and service aboard numerous ships and stations worldwide. After the Navy, he worked in a variety of jobs including civilian merchant marine and supporting offshore drilling operations. His final employment was as a millwright, where he traveled throughout the US maintaining and repairing power plants in the commercial manufacturing industry.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Hazel Dehart, and his younger brother, Phillip.
Survivors include: his wife and best friend of 46 years, JoAnn (Molteg) Dehart; brothers, Dan, Steve and Mike (Donna); and numerous nieces, nephews and their offspring.
His cremated remains will be inurned at Barrancas National Cemetery with full military honors. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
Trahan Family Funeral Home of Milton is in charge of arrangements.
