James (Jim) Emmanuel McGahan was born to James and Gertrude McGahan on February 14, 1933. He left this world to join our Lord on August 2, 2019.
He is survived by daughter, Sharon Julia Davis and her husband Gary, daughter Glenda Faye Dees; grandsons, James Davis and William Copple, granddaughters, Julie Copple and Linda Slayton. He had five great-grandchildren, Ashley, James, Kimberlee, Hunter and Reed. James is also survived by his brother Dave McGahan and his family, and brother Pete McGahan and his family. He also leaves his very dear friend Dani Knight and her sons.
He has been reunited with his first wife Julia (died in 1958) and second wife Joyce (died 2008). He always wondered what he had done to deserve these wonderful women.
James and Joyce buried an infant son, James McGahan II in 1960. He lost his daughter Sandra Faye Copple in 2018.
James retired from Champion Paper Company, and then retired from Plastic Coated Paper. He worked 53 years in the paper industry.
He enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was a fan of boxing, baseball and football. He could armchair quarterback with the best of them. When James was 78, he owned his last motorcycle. He and Joyce shared some good times with his in-laws, Jinks and Bernice Singleton traveling around the country. His favorite destination was Las Vegas.
While our hearts are broken, we know we have many happy memories of time spent with him. Memories that we will all cherish.
