The funeral service for Mr. Charles (Chuck) W. Dix, Jr. age 58 of Pensacola, FL will be held on Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at Trahan Family Funeral Home in Pensacola, FL. Brother Wayne Butts will be officiating. A public visitation will be held at 5:00 p.m., with a service following at 6:00 p.m.
Chuck passed away on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at Sacred Heart Hospital from a long battle with illnesses while surrounded by his family and friends. He was born on November 10, 1960 in Pensacola, FL to Charles W. Dix and Margie W. Cook.
In his early years Chuck volunteered at various fire departments in Alabama and Florida. Chuck began his technology career working by his father’s side where they formed Cable Technologies. He furthered his career at Panhandle Alarm Systems and finished his career in the Escambia County School District.
Chuck's hobbies included racing, watching NASCAR, deep sea fishing, shooting pool, DJ, Karaoke, cooking, and most importantly spending time with family and friends.
Chuck is survived by his father, Charles W. Dix, Sr. of Pensacola, FL; 3 sons: Donald (Wendy) LeeMaster of Oxford, AL, Richard (Alaina) Dix of Pensacola, FL, Jeremy (Samantha) Dix of Deltona, FL; 2 sisters: Teri Bates of Birmingham, AL, Lori (Sonny) Carroll of Cragford, AL; 5 grandchildren: Kimberly and Cole LeeMaster of Oxford, AL, Lilly Dix of Deltona, FL and Aniya and Ariyana Dix of Pensacola, FL; 3 nephews: Jason, Corey and Chase of Alabama; 1 niece: Jennifer (Ryan) of Florida; 3 great nephews Gage and Tanner of Alabama and Davis of Florida; 3 great nieces: Hailee and Layla of Alabama and Ireland of Florida and a special little buddy, Cody Dunlap of Pensacola, FL.
He is preceded in death by his beloved mother, Margie C. Dix; paternal and maternal grandparents; brother-in-law, Gerald Bates; 1 niece, Renae Music and several Aunts and Uncles, and best friend Robert Herter.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Chuck's memory to the American Cancer Society.
