Grace Lucille Carpenter
March 11, 1933 – January 5, 2019

Lucille Carpenter, Nan-Nan, 85, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loving family. She was born March 11, 1933 in Mulberry Grove, Illinois to her parents John-Thomas and Edna Elam. She spent her adulthood as a wife, homemaker, and mother to her four children.

Lucille had a very giving and hardworking spirit. She served as the solid foundation for the success of Carpenter Trucking, a business established with husband Roy of 51 years. Whether she was driving a truck or keeping the books for the business, she always ensured that her employees and families could succeed. She was an active member of Wallace Baptist Church where she served as she could until her health declined.

Lucille is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Rebecca Kay Reeves; step daughter, Jacqueline Lynn Carpenter; son, Roy Malcolm Carpenter, Jr. (Sherri); grandchildren, Jesse Stanfield and Alicia Parker (Reeves), Mallory Grace Carpenter and Payton Elizabeth Carpenter; as well as 3 great grandchildren.

Lucille was proceeded in death by husband, Roy Carpenter, Sr.; her parents, John Thomas Elam and Edna Arlene Elam (Blankenship); son, Norman Reeves and brother, Henry Blankenship.

Trahan Family Funeral Home of Milton is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation will be Thursday, January 10, 2019 from 5-7 p.m., at Trahan Family Funeral Home of Milton, Service will be Friday, January 11, 2019 at 2:00 p.m., at Trahan Family Funeral Home of Milton, Burial to follow at Serenity Gardens.

The Carpenter family would like to acknowledge with sincere appreciation for comforting messages, food offerings, floral tributes and other expressions of kindness. They would like to send a special appreciation and love to the staff of Homestead Village and Covenant Hospice whom played a huge role in the wonderful care of Lucille in her final days. The family could not have made it without them. Please join family and friends at the residence of Roy and Sherri (2868 Tunnel Road, Pace FL 32571) following service for food and fellowship.
