Obituary for James Hogg

James Hogg
James C. “Jim” Hogg, 84, passed away on May 17, 2018. He is now in Heaven with his loving wife of 44 years, Faye.
Jim was born on April 13, 1934 in Dozier, AL to Waverly and Effie (Wallace) Hogg. He served in the United States Air Force and was stationed in Arizona, England, and Alaska from 1952 – 1956. He returned to school to complete his education and graduated with his high school diploma at age 45, something he was very proud of.
Jim was a master mechanic and could look and listen to a car to figure out was the problem was. He could then repair it effortlessly. He built a beautiful T-bucket Roadster from the ground up that he loved to drive around Milton, and to car shows.
He was a jack of all trades, working in construction, roofing, and welding. He built houses, churches, and several bridges in Santa Rosa and Escambia Counties.
Jim loved the Lord with all his heart and tried to serve Him faithfully. He was a member of New Testament Church in Milton, FL.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; wife, Faye (Teston) Hogg; a son, Sammy; stepsons, Steve and Dan; grandson, Bubba; great-grandsons, Hunter and Jaxon; brother, Charles; and sisters, Sue and Peggy.
Survivors include: his children: Larry, Denise (Danny), David, Terri, and Peggy; daughters-in-law, Sarah and Carolyn; grandchildren: Drew, Stevie, Tiffany, Patti (Leron), Brittany (Josh), Katie (Alex), Krystal (Jeremy), Rachael, Michelle, Jessee, Samantha, Lauren, and Gregory; great-grandchildren: A.J., Eli, Destiny, Rachel, Maddox, Jaxon, Rebecca, Olivia, Lacy, Leighann, Lexi, and baby boy Selmon due in November 2018; sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty Jo and Ray Fall and Barbara and Buddy Nowland; brothers and sisters-in-law, Eddie and Carol Teston, Merlene Driggers, Grace Barry, Jackie Teston, and Sharon Papicek; special cousins, Bill and Billie Dean Wallace; numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Trahan Family Funeral Home of Milton is in charge of arrangements.
Graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 21, 2018 at Serenity Gardens Cemetery with Rev. Bill Wiley, Bruce Teston, and Bill Wallace officiating.
Pallbearers will be: son-in-law, grandsons, and nephews, Danny Thames, Andrew Hobbs, Stevie Hobbs, Alex Selmon, Terry Fall, and Bruce Teston.
The family would like to thank Emerald Coast Hospice and nurse, Delise for all your care to our Dad, these last few days. Also to Uncle Ray Fall and Mr. Bill and Billie Dean Wallace for all your visits, food and care to Dad.
Jim loved his family, wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and loved to brag on all of them.
“We love you Dad! You took great care of us and we will miss you!”
2 Timothy 4:7-8
I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness which the Lord shall give me at that day.
