Otis "Ray" Comans
Otis Ray Comans of Navarre, FL passed away on January 4, 2018.
Ray was born in Neshoba County, MS to Henry Otis and Dorothy Jane Comans on July 25, 1931.
Ray joined the Air Force in 1951 and served for 20 years. He served in Korea and Vietnam and also had duty on the Texas Towers off the coast of Cape Cod. He married his wife, Lola Ann Robbins on December 1, 1955. They just celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary. Ray was known as the Tomato Man in Navarre. People came from miles around to buy his vegetables and were always looking to see if his tomato sign was out. His garden was always beautiful and plentiful and will be missed by our community.
Ray was preceded in death by his son Charley on March 25, 2017.
Ray is survived by: his wife, Lola; daughter, Cindy Davidson and her husband John; his son, Raymond Comans and his wife Kathy; his grandchildren, Johnny Davidson and his wife Crystal and Joey Davidson and his wife LeAmber; his great-grandchildren, Lynley Davidson, Caroline Davidson, Aubrey Davidson, Gaeb Swindall, and Charlette Davidson; his brother, Fonzy Comans and his wife Marcella; sisters, Mildred Sistrunk, Joy Lovern and her husband Jerome, Myrtle & Joe Checkley, and Mary E. Cox; and many more family and friends.
Trahan Family Funeral Home of Milton is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be held from 12:30 p.m. until the funeral service begins at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at Billory Baptist Church, 8162 Stillwater Cove in Holley. Burial will follow at Harper Cemetery.
