Obituary for Eric Patrick Scanlon

Eric Patrick Scanlon
Eric Patrick Scanlon, 36, of Pensacola, FL went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 11, 2017 at Sacred Heart Hospital. He was born in Pensacola, FL on August 10, 1981 to his loving parents, John H. Scanlon and Marcia Darlene Richardson.
Eric was the second beautiful child of six. Eric had enjoyed snow skiing at a young age. He had, also, loved going to the Pensacola Beach, where he would go fishing and crabbing. He was a caring and kind soul, as well as a friend to many. Eric was a graduate of Hoquiam High School in Hoquiam, WA; and, attended college for a couple of years. In his adulthood he enjoyed paddle boarding, surfing, and above all he loved spending time with his family. Eric had three brothers and two younger sisters. He was a warehouse manager for Granite Worx off Olive Road. He was especially close to his co-workers and enjoyed his job very much. Eric was a member of Scenic Heights Baptist Church where he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior in his early teen years. More recently, when Eric visited his mother, stepfather, and sisters he would attend and worship the Lord at True Worship Assembly of God.
He now walks alongside his Lord with his paternal grandmother, Cecelia Scanlon; maternal grandparents, Johnny and Deana Richardson; paternal grandfather, Kenneth Scanlon; and his uncles, Patrick Scanlon and Billy Scanlon.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his father, John H. Scanlon; mother, Marcia Mayo; stepfather, Richard Mayo; brothers, John H. (Amy) Scanlon, Jr.; Alex (Danielle) Scanlon; Brody Scanlon; sisters, Meghan Mayo, Katelyn Mayo; aunts and uncles; Andy and Etta Scanlon; Maureen Phetteplace; Victor and Karen Richardson; Kevin and Karen Coats; Eric Richardson; great uncles, Tommy Harris, Butchy Harris; great aunts, Joyce Harris, Betty Winters; niece and nephews, Kelly, Riley, Zoe Scanlon; cousins, Debbie, Larry, Theresa, Shane, Derek, Natalie, Matt, Nick, Cody; and numerous loving friends.
We would like to give a special thanks to all the workers at Granite Worx, Bill & Laura Baker (thank you for being such a good influence in Eric’s life), Laura (Eric spoke highly of you and your kindness), Jamie Rothe (Jamie, thank you so much for being at the scene of the accident with our son. Your handling of the situation and loving attention you gave to us was beyond words. Your careful wording and comfort at the hospital while knowing the situation, was commendable.
