The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Thomas Strahan can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thomas L Strahan

Thomas L Strahan
Thomas (Tom/Tommy) Strahan,60, of Pensacola met with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday July 12, 2017, following a courageous battle with ALS. His dedication to fight continues through his generous and selfless donation to the Harvard Brain Science Institute.
He is survived by his adoring wife Kay, who fought alongside him during his journey. Also surviving are his son, Shane Strahan, four stepchildren and eleven step grandchildren.
He was the eldest of four children and is survived by three siblings, Tim Strahan (his wife Kathie), Tammy MacKendree (her husband Mike), and Leon Strahan (his wife Lita). He was cherished by a large family of uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He proudly served his country for 23 years, retiring in 2000 as a Chief Petty Officer in the US Navy.
Following his military retirement, he continued serving another 14 years at NAS as an aircraft mechanic specializing in corrosion control at both T39 and T6.
He was an avid collector of several sorts and found extreme enjoyment in collecting, downloading, and listening to music. Always willing to share his music with those near.
Services will be held at Charity Chapel Church located at 5820 Montgomery Avenue in Pensacola on Saturday July 15 at 2 pm. Military rights will be accorded followed by fellowship with the family in the east wing of Charity Chapel.
Interment of ashes will be in Glade City Cemetery in Blandinsville, Illinois at a later date.
Please make all memorial gifts to the ALS Association.
Tom was an extraordinary man that had an infectious smile that was truly a gift to all that knew him.
