Obituary for Colin Douglas "Doug" Gillis

Colin Douglas Gillis Sr., 74, of Pace, passed away Sunday, June 11, 2017. Doug was born October 20, 1942, to Peter Cornelius and Margie B. Gillis. Doug grew up in Milton and graduated Milton high school in 1960. Doug worked for American Cyanamid for 36 years. Doug was known as a very loving, generous, and kind person. He also had a big smile, big heart, and would do anything to help anyone in need.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and two sisters.
Doug is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Peggy; his son, Doug Jr.; his favorite daughter-in-law, Charlotte; three grandchildren: JR (Kelly) Enfinger, Christopher Enfinger, and Keisha (Andy) Wiekham; six great-grandchildren; his sister, Marlene (Michael) Gavlak; brother-in-law, Danny Hood; and his sister-in-law, Margaret (Broxson) Gillis.
A Memorial Service is being held Saturday, June 17, 2017, at Woodbine Baptist Church. The visitation will be from 11 am until the memorial service begins at 12 pm.
Flowers are welcome but in lieu of flowers, a donation to Woodbine Baptist Church would be accepted.
